Ventura makes a compelling case for staying out past bedtime. Late-night options include comfort food, sushi, and steaming bowls of ramen. It's the perfect spot to nosh after your embarc Ventura shopping trip.

Bank of Italy Cocktail Trust

  • Known for cocktails and historic downtown atmosphere

Is it a bar, a bank, or a late-night grub hub? Housed in a historic former bank building on Main Street, Bank of Italy Cocktail Trust brings a little grandeur to Ventura. This one leans more drinks-forward than some of our other picks, making it a good stop when the night calls for one more cocktail and a little atmosphere.

Strange Beast

  • Open 4 p.m.-midnight Monday-Friday and noon- midnight Saturday- Sunday

  • Known for Japanese-inspired food, sushi, ramen, and cocktails

Strange Beast describes itself as “cocktail culture meets Japanese izakaya”, and that's reason enough for us to investigate! The downtown spot pairs its aesthetic drinks with hand rolls, sushi, ramen, bowls, and shareable Japanese-inspired bites, all served late into the night. This is munchies with a little more polish.

8E88 Rice & Ramen

  • Open 5 p.m.-midnight daily

  • Known for halal Thai food, ramen, rice bowls, and late-night comfort snacks

8E88 literally calls itself “a gentle place for late-night cravings”, and we love that. The halal menu marries Thai flavors to Japanese-inspired comfort food, including creamy coconut Chef's Special Ramen, Tom Yum Ramen, pad kra pao, rice bowls, karaage, and gyoza. There’s even mango sticky rice, which is a Thai-food must. 

Woodland

Woodland's after-hours eats pack a range, from Indian fusion and dive bar comfort classics to a Mexican feast before midnight. Make sure to check out the embarc Woodland outlet location during the day, as there are tons of great deals to explore.
