Celebrating International Women’s Day: Woman-Owned Cannabis Brands We Love

Happy International Women’s Day!

Here at Embarc, we’re so incredibly proud of the many amazing woman-owned brands whose products we stock on our shelves and who are doing amazing things not only in cannabis, but also in important social justice causes throughout California and beyond. This International Women’s Day, we want to showcase some of our favorite woman-owned and woman-led brands and share a bit about what makes each of them so special!

Autumn Brands
Local to Santa Barbara, Autumn Brands is 50% woman owned and operated. Its co-founders, Autumn Shelton and Hanna Brand, launched their cannabis farm on the values of fairness, honesty, and trust, and they were one of the first women-owned cannabis brands in California. But their family history of farming goes back to Holland and over six generations.

Autumn Brands produces pure, high-quality and highly potent strains of cannabis using indoor sun-grown methods that have proven to be some of the best for cannabis cultivation.

Garcia Hand Picked
Garcia Hand Picked was launched by Trixie Garcia, daughter of legendary rocker and founding member of the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, as well as other members of his direct family. Jerry Garcia, a longtime supporter of cannabis legalization, would be proud to see the brand today. Eco-friendly, sourced from original and unique genetics, and developed in collaboration with expert and honorable people, Garcia Hand Picked is truly one of the good ones.

Garden Society
Another brand led by a pair of innovative and bold women, Garden Society was founded by Erin Gore and Karli Warner. Both are lovers of science, the outdoors, and the way that cannabis can be used to transform lives for the better whether in low-doses for wellness or more potent forms for personal enjoyment.

Erin Gore is a board member of the National Cannabis Industry Association and a fierce advocate for women-owned cannabis businesses everywhere. Together with Warner, they founded Garden Society to be a place where customers could depend on quality products, innovative and ethical practices, and advocacy for the future of cannabis worldwide.

Potli
Potli is a woman-owned brand with a focus on one of the hottest trends in cannabis— infusing cooking ingredients with our favorite herb. Some of their most beloved products include their cannabis-infused Dream Honey, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Umami CBD Chili Oil, all of which bring the many benefits of cannabis to your next homemade dish.

Potli was founded by two best friends who wanted to create a wellness product that even people skeptical of cannabis could immediately trust. They partnered with a local multi-generational beekeeper for their first batch of hemp-infused cannabis, and Potli was born.
