Fresno is full of fun things to do, you just have to know where to look! Since we’re pretty centrally located within the city, we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful places to see and things to do in the area. If you’re new to the area, looking for some fresh ideas, or having a hard time narrowing down a decision, we have you covered with some of our favorite things to do in Fresno.
Summer is here and the weather has been stellar, so we picked some recommendations that would have the same vibe. On this list, you’ll find something for everyone, including family-friendly options and things for just the adults to do. Whatever you choose, we’re confident that you’ll have a blast!
Wild Waters and Island Water Park are two great ways to enjoy the summer sun while beating the heat with plenty of fun activities for all ages. Water slides, wave pools, and plenty of places to relax in the sun or shade make water parks one of the top things to do in Fresno when the weather is warm. We think you’ll have a great time beating the heat with some cannabis and water slides!
Fresno’s Chaffee Zoo is a true gem of the city. We love the atmosphere they have created at the zoo, and they’re constantly making upgrades. They just recently added a beautiful new exhibit called Kingdoms of Asia with new animals and an expansive enclosure to enjoy. The Chaffee Zoo is the perfect thing to do in Fresno for all ages, especially with the amazing new additions. We think the zoo is blast and highly recommend you check out the new exhibit as soon as possible, it won’t disappoint!
Fresno has some great parks, but at Embarc Fresno, we put Woodward Park at the top due to its size and opportunity for outdoor fun. Woodward has a stunning Japanese botanical garden, ponds, streams, frisbee golf, a BMX dirt track, playgrounds, BBQs, walking, biking, and hiking trails. The park even has concerts in a well-built outdoor stadium. We think Woodward Park is top shelf in the park department and should be enjoyed by everyone as much as possible!
Located in the heart of the Central Valley, Fresno’s farmer’s market scene is quite impressive. Whichever one you choose, Tower District, River Park, or one of the many others, you’ll be met with amazing local vendors offering the freshest produce and products made with local ingredients. We love the feeling of buying our produce locally from people who put the love they have for what they do into the food they farm, and we think you’ll have a great time walking through a Fresno Farmers Market.
On the first and third Thursday of every month, Fresno has ArtHop in the downtown area. Food trucks, drinks, and vendors populate the area offering something fun for everyone. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy the local food scene while browsing local artist and vendor booths. If it’s not a first or third Thursday, there are a few art galleries in Fresno that may spark your interest. Our personal favorite is Spectrum Art Gallery, there’s no entry fee, the art is all done locally, and they do a great job of rotating and theming their exhibits.
Two areas in Fresno that have seen some great revitalization of nightlife have been the Tower District and the Downtown bar scene. Aside from maybe Old Town Clovis, Fresno’s Tower District is the only place where bar hopping on foot is not only possible but easy and fun. All along Olive Avenue in Tower, there are bars and restaurants open late on weekends, catering to a fun atmosphere for adults to enjoy a night out. If you’re looking for dinner ideas, be sure to check out our favorite Italian restaurants in Fresno.
Fresno’s Save Mart Center draws some big names in the music industry and should not be looked over when searching for a good time. The larger venue draws music artists and acts of all kinds providing something every fan can find to attend. We recommend getting a group together and making a thing of it for an extra special night on the town! Before you head out for the show, stop by one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and treat yourself to some incredible tacos.
At Embarc Fresno, we want to make it known that we love herbs of all kinds! As huge tea fans, we cannot stress enough that the best place to get a great hot or iced tea is Teazer World Tea Market. They have a few locations but their Tower District spot is our favorite for its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Teazers does not miss when it comes to their tea so feel free to explore the menu, and don’t be afraid to ask the staff what they might recommend based on your taste preferences. Consider this the ultimate cottonmouth killer!
Strummer’s almost always has something going on during the weekends and even during the week. Whether they’re hosting a concert or themed DJ night, it’s a hot spot for entertainment and drinks. Located in the Tower District, Strummer’s is the perfect place to enjoy a night out with a group of friends, you’re sure to have a great time.
Fresno has a few lakes to choose from when it comes to enjoying some outdoor activities. Millerton Lake is just a short drive down Friant Road, but Shaver and Huntington Lake are great options and not too far for some of the most beautiful nature we have to enjoy in the area. Nothing beats fresh air, sunshine, and time on the water or hiking a trail. Nature pairs perfectly with cannabis, and we love taking the drive to enjoy them both together and think you will too!
Everything’s better with a little bit of cannabis in your life! No matter your preference, flower, extracts, vape, edibles, drinkables, or prerolls, we’ve got your day squared away at Embarc Fresno. Make sure to stop by before your next Fresno adventure. We’ve got the plug on all your favorites!
