COMPASSION PROGRAM
Embarc’s Compassionate Use Program is a donation program for patients in need that distributes cannabis products quarterly to registered participants. Our goal is to provide free and affordable cannabis products to help critically ill patients in the communities we serve.
How does it work?
Patients or caretakers interested in participating in the Compassionate Use Program can apply for the program by filling out and submitting the application form. The application can be filled out online or submitted in person at either our Fairfield or South Lake Tahoe locations.
Patient Eligibility
Embarc staff will review the application to determine eligibility and conduct a needs assessment for each patient to be considered for enrollment. Approved patients will be provided free boxes quarterly, along with a discount for any additional store purchases.
Embarc’s Compassionate Use Program will initially serve:
- Veterans, Seniors and Patients with Severe Medical Conditions
- With a valid medical cannabis recommendation and/or valid Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC)
- That earn less than the local jurisdiction’s Area Median Income (AMI)
Severe Medical Conditions as defined by SB420 include:
- AIDS
- Anorexia
- Arthritis
- Cachexia
- Cancer
- Chronic pain
- Glaucoma
- Migraine
- Persistent muscle spasms
- Seizures
- Severe nausea
- Any other chronic or persistent medical symptom that either substantially limits a person’s ability to conduct one or more of major life activities as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, or if not alleviated, may cause serious harm to the person’s safety, physical, or mental health
*Please note that Embarc’s Compassionate Use Program is only providing pick-up locations at our Fairfield and South Lake Tahoe shops at this time.

What You Receive
Each Compassionate Use Program participant will receive a box of curated cannabis products on a quarterly basis, along with instructions for use and related educational materials. Each box will contain high-quality products that address the assessed patient needs along with new items to try that may be useful for the identified condition or ailment.
